The prototype of this toy is a work “Three Sisters” created by Yoshitomo Nara in 2007, featuring three iconic girls of Yoshitomo Nara who are learning to play drums with hats. This work was once auctioned at Christie’s Hong Kong in 2012 together with another canvas work “Hothouse” Doll (the work with a brown background in the room below). The estimated price was 6.5-8.5 million Hong Kong dollars, and the final sale price was HKD 11.3 million.
