Curated by Gin Huang Gallery, the solo exhibition Under the Silent Moon by Russian artist Anna Berezovskaya is presented at the VIP Lounge of Regent Taipei. This exhibition marks a significant milestone as the 10th anniversary exhibition of the gallery, carrying both artistic and symbolic importance. It is a great honor to present this exhibition featuring Berezovskaya—widely regarded as a national treasure of Russia and affectionately known among international collectors as “Princess Anna.”
The relationship between Gin Huang Gallery and the artist spans over 12 years, rooted in a deep and enduring friendship that began at the very inception of the gallery. This exhibition is a cross-border presentation that reflects a long-standing bond of trust, shared vision, and artistic dialogue.
Anna Berezovskaya is an internationally acclaimed artist whose works are highly sought after by royal families, prominent political figures, and distinguished collectors worldwide. Her practice holds a significant position within the global art scene, with institutional recognition including major holdings by the National Gallery Singapore, one of the most important public collections of her work.
In Berezovskaya’s visual language, the moon is not merely a natural motif but a silent observer—symbolizing the passage of time, the layering of emotions, and the ineffable dimensions of human existence. Under the Silent Moon presents a suspended temporality: figures wander, pause, or gather in quiet intimacy, as if time itself has slowed to a near standstill, yet continues to unfold beyond the visible frame.
Recurring symbols such as snails, fish, the moon, and botanical forms form the core of her poetic vocabulary. The snail, in Russian cultural symbolism, represents cyclical time and the continuity of life; fish evoke the subconscious and emotional flow; while floating elements—lanterns, architectural fragments, and vessels—suggest states of transition, memory, and spiritual dwelling. These elements interweave into a dreamlike narrative structure, inviting viewers into a contemplative, almost meditative experience.
